Halloween Balloons

Balloons do something no other Halloween decoration can: they fill volume cheaply. A single bag turns an empty doorway into a frame, and a standing foil figure reads from across a room without helium, tape or a frame.

Foil vs Latex

Foil holds its shape, prints cleanly and deflates flat for storage, which makes it the better choice for shaped figures, skulls and lettering. Latex is cheaper per balloon and better for building volume in a garland, but it dulls as it stretches and it does not come back next year. Most good Halloween setups use both: foil for the statement pieces, latex for the bulk behind them.

Garlands Without the Struggle

A balloon garland is a strip with holes, plus glue dots. Inflate to slightly different sizes, thread the small ones first, then tuck the large ones over the gaps. The single biggest improvement to any garland is varying the size more than feels comfortable.

Reuse

Foil balloons with self-sealing valves can be deflated and packed away. Do not over-inflate them, and they will come back out next October looking the same.
